Large Intestine

Large Intestine (or large bowel) - 1.5m long, is the part of the digestive system where waste products from the food you eat are collected and processed into feces. It is composed of 4 parts which are distributed in the abdominal cavity:

• Caecum
• Appendix
• Colon
• Rectum

Large Intestine's Functions

The large intestine absorbs water from its inner contents and stores the rest until it is convenient to dispose of it. It generally absorbs certain vitamins, processes dietary fiber and stores waste before it is eliminated.
